The Lineage and Uniforms of the Regiments of Scotland - Past and Present
In
2006 the Royal Regiment of Scotland (1st, 21st, 25th, 42nd, 71st,
72nd, 73rd, 74th, 75th, 78th, 79th, 91st, 92nd and 93rd) was formed as five
‘kilted’ regular battalions and two ‘kilted’ territorial battalions
(formerly the 52nd Lowland and 51st Highland Regiments).
The legacy of the Cameronians (26th and 90th Regiments) is represented by the black
hackle worn by the 1st Battalion of the new regiment. The heritage
of Scottish military life and traditions of the above has now been merged into one
Regiment.
In
addition, the Scots Guards, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards
(Carabiniers and Greys) still continue to exist. Along with Scottish
units of the Yeomanry and other Territorial Army units. This website is here to record the
Lineage and Uniforms of the Regiments of Scotland - Past
and Present. The Regulars, Fencibles, Militia and Special
Reserve, Yeomanry, Volunteers and Territorials. From the
1660's to the present day. For collectors and
historians, amateur or professional.
